Product Description
Basic Principle
The fundamental principle of metal spin-forming is similar to that of ancient pottery‑making techniques. Spin‑formed parts are typically axisymmetric cylindrical or dish‑shaped components, while the workpieces for spinning are usually cylindrical blanks or circular sheet stock. The operating principle and structure of a spin‑forming machine closely resemble those of a metal‑cutting lathe. At the position of the lathe’s carriage, a spindle‑driven wheel holder is incorporated; the spinning wheel mounted on this holder can move radially. A mandrel (shaft) coaxially connected to the main spindle supports the blank, which is slipped over the mandrel. Friction generated between the spinning wheel and the blank—slipped over the mandrel—causes the wheel to rotate passively in the opposite direction. Simultaneously, under the action of a large axial thrust cylinder, the wheel holder advances axially.
